John Janucik Appointed Executive Chef at Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld
[Orlando, FL – May 31, 2010] – Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld is pleased to welcome John Janucik as executive chef of the 716-room resort. The award-winning chef will oversee the property’s five dining outlets including signature restaurant Mist Sushi & Spirits as well as catering operations for the property’s 185,000 sq. ft. of meeting space.

Janucik has earned several accolades for his culinary skills including a silver medal in the ACF-sponsored Super Team Competition in 2007, Golden Spoon awards from Florida Trend magazine in 2007, 2008, 2009 and was nominated in 2008 as an A.C.E Rising Star by Marriott International Inc.
A graduate of The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y, Janucik mostly recently served as executive sous chef at the Orlando World Center Marriott. He has held numerous positions throughout his career including executive chef of Hyatt Regency Sarasota in Sarasota, Fla. as well as executive banquet chef at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando.
Always eager to master new techniques, Janucik has completed additional professional development classes at The Culinary Institute of American Greystone in Napa Valley, Calif., participated in the International Chefs Congress last year and completed seafood training courses from Steve Connolly Seafood in Boston.
A community advocate, Janucik often participates in local charity functions such as Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation, March of Dimes and Coalition for the Homeless as well as the adopt a school program at Dr. Phillips Elementary School and Jones High School, both in Orlando.
